Default Adjustable pushrods

I would like to put adjustable pushrods in my 9000 mile 1995 Heritage Softail. Most everybody I talked to said there is no reason to do this. What are your thoughts?

Not all adjustable pushrods are the same, the collapse complete type /// in the past we would only install adjustables IF - it was leaking and we didnot want to remove the gas tanks and top chrome covers - other than that it does nothing but allow easyer repairs - johnjzjz

I put Harley quick install pushrods in my 99 Softail Custom when I changed out the cam bearing. I just wanted to do it without having to remove the rockers and I had no leaks. They have been working fine for the last 20,000 miles and were fairly easy to install and adjust. It also gave me the option of adding a cam later if I wanted with out removing the top. Having said that, there is no reason the stock ones won't work just as well if you want to do the extra work.

I like the SE Harley pushrods, But no need until you have to do some work on the bike , like change cam or tensioners.

The only reason mine has adjustable pushrods is because I had the heads milled at the same time the new cam was installed. Even then, I think I could have gotten away with the stock ones.

Are you having something else done to the bike? What is the reason you want adjustable pushrods?

Unless you are doing work to your bike there is no reason to put them in.
Even if you are doing some work on your bike the stock pushrods are better than the adjustable ones.

I would say not unless you need to do it like if you are swapping cams or you have excessive cam noise in there but other than that i would leave it alone. I have SE Adj in my 07 and it made the bike so much more quiet but i was swapping cams so it was a no brainer. I have had no issues with them in 30000 miles.

I would only do adjustable pr if I had to (i.e., milling heads or cylinders). Otherwise, stock is more foolproof and reliable.

For the record, evos don't have tensioners.

I had them on my FLHTP. Even used them after I had the top end work done. Never had a problem, but, I would rather have had non-adjustable....one less thing to worry about.
