And I thought you were being brave, filming them from your bike!
The road up the Mtn was too bad for a Harley and rough for my pickup. Took about an hour to get up to the top. I did hike around and a big one walked straight for me and got 40 ft from me before I retreated. Bucket list for sure..
I'm thinking I need to get over to your part of the country and go for a ride!!!!
Love the pics!!
This was a wide eye jaw dropper speachless moment. I spent about an hour before dark there. I had to use my parking lights to come dn off the mtn because the head lights you could not see the road. I was worried... Over an Hr to get off the Mtn.
wow, great pics. never knew you had elk in georgia
Actually, This is 180 mi from my house, up 5000ft in North Carolina mtns.
The Mtns alone were worth the drive and the Elk was beyond words. The camera pic dont come close.
One of the great moments in my hunting life was watching and hearing a large herd of elk running the ridge at 9000' in Wyoming. Awe inspiring.
And good eating too....
That was my first Elk experience. I think these were protected by the state since they are trying to bring them back from extinction here. Check out this fog pic just before zero visability.
Wildlife at it's best, been hunting deer hard lately as rut is in but those Elks make a deer look small. When we were riding in Wyoming, stopped at a watering hole and the owner was a serious hunter, took awhile to warm up to us but started talking hunting.
Selling wild game is illegal and he pointed that out but the fella mumbled tip jar and check your saddlebags at the next stop, gave him enough tips to cover his Elk license and Elk steaks for 6 people were grilled at the motel that night, good stuff
