I'm taking all the weight off my tour glide that I can right now, tins, chrome, boards (those're heavy!), battery, bags of course, and especially that fairing. Plan is to push it up a ramp over 2 steps through a 36" door and into the living room, where it'll spend the winter on a jack; gonna replace the swingarm pivot and rebuild the front forks, and pretty much all the bearings outside of the motor and transmission. Different drive pulley, and see what that compensator looks like. I'll have plenty to do this winter, and it ain't gonna be in a garage way below freezing (which I going to get before week's end if I don't get it in the house by then). Hope that floor can hold over 1000 lbs of bike, jack, me and tools... gonna position it where a steel beam runs under the joists, should be ok - that's something to think about for someone putting a Harley over floor joists.

Oh yeah - no old lady to worry about!

Back in the 70's I used to put the BMW R75/5 in the kitchen laundry area. When I got bored I'd go over and polish something on it.

Don't think that's fly with the 93 FLHS.

Thought about that, or put the jack on some 2x4s, but as long as I keep it over that steel beam, should hold fine. My 230 lbs won't flex the floor jumping on it there, but sure will out the middle - won't move the bike anywhere near the middle! Wouldn't be fun trying to get a Harley out of the basement... I've had 400 lbs of Honda in the house before, didn't flex the floor at all.

You guys are a bloody riot!
Ya, she doesn't pee on the floor, but she does have a bit of an aroma. Now I dig it, kind of like that "new car smell." Probably more rubber and carb cleaner...
Stayed for a while in an flat above a tire shop and daaaamn, that smell gets into everything. After a while, I didn't even notice it. I think chicks have a different sense of smell than we do.
I pulled and bagged the K&N filter and now have a damn good excuse to do a complete carb build.
Like I said, the next best thing to riding, having the bike at your disposal. She hasn't been this clean in years! And I don't remember cleaning her, it just happens... bloody awsome.
Cheers to a late night ramble.

Tom, we have a lean-to room almost the same shape as yours, but no way will the darned bike go in there, just too tight through the door, plus too many steps up to it! It would certainly make for better progress and working conditions to have an 'indoor' working space though.....

Just take parts off till it fits.

Now I have to put up some shelves to get all those parts off the garage floor...
