Customization/gift worth mentioning

Hey gang, I wanted to get a gift for one of my riding buddies that meant something to him. His son shipped out to Marine Corps boot camp last June, graduated and then went through combat training and is shipping out for duty after Christmas. My bud is a very proud marine daddy, very proud of his boy and misses him dearly when he's gone. So when he posted his kid's platoon number on facebook and made it his profile pic I figured out how I could bring his boy home even when he's gone.

I copied his facebook profile pic and sent out the JPEG to B Line Custom Engraving and Andy helped turn the jpeg into the image shown below. From start to finish, he had it to me here in Minny in about 10 days. I think it turned out beautifully and wanted to share it with y'all. His soldier is home through 2013 before he heads out so he will be opening it up while he's sitting there. I think even the hardest Harley guy might dab an eye when he sees it.

I also bought the aftermarket gasket and chrome bolts for the derby cover because if it were me, I'd be putting it on immediately. In case anyone is interested in looking the company up, it's www.timercovers.com. No, I don't work for them, I just think they did a great job.

Nice Job. It will mean alot to him. Everybody always tries to find the perfect Christmas gift for people, you did it for your buddy. I bet he has this one forever.......even when the bike is gone.
