Default Side stand angle?

On the Evo Touring models, does the kickstand (jiffystand?) normally stick out toward the rear of the bike a bit when in the parked position, like mine in the pics below:

It works just fine but it just looks so WRONG.
Several people have warned me that my bike is almost falling off its stand, so it is not just me who thinks so.

The locating tag on the top of the stand is all OK, and right way round, I pulled it off and made sure the square tang and matching hole are not worn or loose. Brackets are all straight and tight and in place.

This looks like the sane type of as stand on my old Shovel and my 42 Walla, but never noticed one looking this lame before. The others all angle forward slightly, or at least stick straight out, not angled toward the rear of the bike.
Is it the nature of the beast, or what?

Yes, mine do and over time as that top tab wears it gets worse. The tap at the top of the pin has an ear that fits between the goal posts under the bar. I have recently considered changing that tab on my older bike because it seems sooner or later it is going to disengage

Mine only has 30,000 miles on it and I could not see any significant wear on that tab. If anything, it seems like the bracket that goes around the main shaft is a loose fit, but they are on my older models too and once that tab is in there between the "Goalposts" on the old bikes, the stand is rock solid. Not this one though. Might have to have another look at though.

For sure that doesn't look right.

Could the tab have slipped on the shaft of the stand? Seems that would cause this symptom. I've not had one apart so don't know if the tab has a spline or how it is positively located on the shaft of the stand, but it looks to me like yours has slipped from where it is supposed to be.

Someone could make a ton of money by stamping out a bunch of those tabs with the square repositioned for a more forward landing of the kickstand. Then, everyone would bitch about not being able to reach it with their foot.

Every time I have received a new bike the salesman points out the for and aft movement of the bike on the jiffy stand and each states the bike will never fall. And after 5 Harleys over 33 years the only one that ever fell over was the one I dropped when Iforgot to put the jiffy stand down. Yes there was alcohol involved....

I noticed the same thing over the weekend. I started using a 'jiffy stand disk' last week after putting down a G-Floor and noticed the kick stand didn't look right .....I thought the bike was about to take a dive. It turns out it may have too if I didn't notice it since the stand wasn't completely extended

Hell, I did that sober in the middle of the day. Just takes a minor distraction from the dismount routine and Pow.....

Pretty damn funny actually.
