Keep it. My daughter started on the back of my 65 pan at age 5 (she is now 34). Built special brackets so she could reach the passenger foot pegs. In addition to local miles, every summmer we did a 1-2 week trip. Some of the best times I have had.

Don't know what kind of EVO you have, but some of them could be hard to replace. If you think a twinkie is your future anyway, then it wouldn't matter (I hope to pass on my EVO to daughter or grandson). A lot of times, these decisions end up not being financial; it's not unusual for a new mother to get worried about security, and demand you get rid of the bike. Mine did. Now I have 3 Harleys and some metric odds & ends and... no wife.

There will be times when you are frustrated and upset.
The best cure for that is a ride (or at least it was and is that way for me).

Yeah, this. Better than drinking.
You can justify it too if you ride it to work as much as you can, saves miles on the cage. Get life insurance too, I second that, it helps satisfy the "security gene" in your SO.

Keep it if you can, sell only if you must.

I sold my bikes after first child was born and deeply regretted it. I just wasn't the same person for 15 flippin' years. The next wife (get it?) got it, and helped me buy a bike when she saw my head turning every time a bike putt-putted by.

And as mentioned, once it's gone it's hard to justify getting one again while you have kids.

Maybe your kids will even look back and think that their dad was cool.

I got a 3 year old a 15 month old. Don't sell it. It's harder to replace. Every father to be dumps toys before baby shows up. Sure for the next year or two you won't have riding time, but you'll keep your sanity going out to garage to work on it, or just have a beer and "get away" from baby by saying you have to do something to it. In a couple years you'll have time to ride more.

Buy the book "baby bargains". It's like consumer reports for baby crap. It also tells about all the stuff you DON'T need to buy. The money you save will be more than what you would have got selling the bike. Saved my *** several times.

Fatherhood demands a lot of attention.

I'll give ya $500 for it, and have a trailer over in an hour to pick it up.

Just kidding. Congrats on the baby. I've got two: one is 32, the other is 30.....

Do you owe money on the bike? My vote is to keep it if you can afford it. If you can't afford it then sell it.

If you and your wife can both agree to keep it then that is the thing to do. Babys are expensive if you let them be, but my wife and I had four in about as many years and did not make all that much money, but we and the kids survived in great shape. My wife did not work until all the kids were in school except at home where she had a full time job taking care of babys, including the big one, me. LOL. I am 73 years old now and look back on those years as the best in my life. Raising a family has to be one of the greatest joys and blessings of all. Even with all the trouble. Congratulations to you and your wife.

Keep the bike until you need the money, NEED the money. I can say this 15oo miles away and not knowing **** about your circumstances, good or bad, but keep the bike until you cannot keep the bike.
Bless you man!

I agree with Jeff Silver, maybe even take it one step further... Riding is dangerous, there is also the expense.... Insurance is no substitute for your child not having a father... If you are worried about the expence now, wait until your child is born, money just pours out of your wallet...

When my ex and I decided to have a child I stopped riding, I also stopped flying. It was not really the money for me, but I wanted to be there to raise the person I brought into the world. Don't regret one second of not riding during that time and I came back to it when the time was right...

You will know what is right for you and just do it... Congrats to you and the Mrs.
