Hey guys, I am planning on putting a different cam in my 1998 Electra Glide, and am looking around for a few alternate lifter options that others have had good luck with. I will be doing nothing radical, EV27 most likely, but will be doing lifters and valve springs at the same time. So what other lifters have you guys used, I hesitate spending 250 for stock HD if theres a less expensive alternative that is equal or better....any help?
Good to know, I am getting mixed feedback from the HD stock lifters, I was thinking they were the way to go, but now I am not to sure. I appreciate hearing your experience.
Another vote for Johnson Hylifts here, it's what I used in my build. Heard nothing but good about them. Customer service is top notch as well. Had an issue with 1 lifter in the first set (small blemish on the roller, wasn't 100% sure of it). Called them and they asked me to email a pic. Snapped a shot w/ my phone and sent it to them. They called me back immediately and said they were sending another out right then and apologized for the inconvenience. Asked if they wanted the other back and they said don't worry about it. Had the new lifter 2 days later. Says a lot to me in this day and age of **** poor customer service. Made in USA to boot!

BTW, pretty sure that phone call was late afternoon/evening, well after normal business hours!

Mixed feedback on HD lifters?
OEM lifters will give you good service with an ev-27 cam.
I have been running that lifter/cam setup on my old Softail, and I get no valve train noise.
