Default Pulled the trigger today!

Just left TP engineerings factory after ordering myself a new 121" motor! My old stock 80 had a good run of almost 80k miles, time to give her a rest, probably pass her on to someone else who im sure could milk another 40k or so out of it.
Excited to get to wrenching.... 2 weeks build time gonna be rough to wait through! Will definitely report when its in and going down the road.

Sounds interesting! Haven't heard of TP before, but they look like an interesting shop. Haven't got our interest, tell us more about your purchase!

http://tpengines.com/ They've been around since 02 i think? Considered on of the best aftermarket vtwins built. Comes with a 2 yr unlimited mile warranty. All in house produced, no outsourcing other than the ignition and mikuni carb . Nice that they are right down the road from my house as well. Good to support local business I say. They had a extensive line of different engines but have cut back to just the one 121" model due to the chopper market is done. They built all the motors for big dog choppers. Said to run smoother with less vibration than the equivalent S&S, which i considered. Was told they are a good power range through all rpms as im not a hot rodder type rider should be nice to ride with the extra power should i need it.
Quote from website:
All engines include the innovations you’ve come to expect from TP Engineering: the patented Smart Pump that routes oil to the oil filter before it enters the engine and delivers a constant flow of oil to the top-end and bottom-end of the engine at all times; the remote-mounted single-fire ignition with crankshaft-position sensor means no more timing lights; patented Pro-Vent® chromed billet rocker boxes; our exclusive Scramjet air cleaner; 7075-T6 billet lifter blocks; forged coated pistons; two-piece billet cam cover with chromed nose-cone; push-button compression releases; forged steel roller rocker arms; and Mikuni 45mm carburetor.

Bigger than i wanted, was originally looking for their 107 but was impressed with their outfit and reputation so just pulled the trigger.

Sounds like a wise move! I'm guessing at a 4.25" bore and stroke?

I went to their website but I couldn't find a price.
What are they asking for their motors?

6500 for natural finish extra for polished or show polished
Not a bad price comparing to S&S of similar size, not counting the ultima or revtech oriental motors. American bike deserves a american engine
Oh and they been around since 84 not 02 I misread

That is a damn good price for that size motor!!!!!!!!!
I noticed they didn't have a black/chrome finish.

I completely agree that an American bike needs an American motor!!!
Too bad we can't get American parts for the outsourced parts of our bikes!!!!
