KP they are DNA super spoke. I got a really good deal on all three from flea bay. Thanks for the compliments guys. It's not for everyone , but I'm pretty happy with it. I built this bike the first time 14 years ago as looked in my sig pic. This is now and really close to being finished after a ground up rebuild.
these pics don't do any good for the bikes there much better in person
So, I tried something and now I'm completely confused. Bad storms last night so I had some free time and pulled the primary off. Removed the comp cover and put one extra spring in to creat more tension. At first I thought it was the same but it definitely feels different.
Before if I revved the engine to 3k then let it return to idle it would shake at 2100-2000 then smooth, feels like a stumble or shudder. Now it does that at 2400 then completely smooth down past 2k to idle. When driving it still shakes at 2k only when holding it there. It doesn't shake when accelerating through if the throttle is opened more than 1/4. It shakes on regular deceleration in gear coasting down when I get to about 2100-2000 just like when I'm holding the throttle. I can also cruise at 43 mph in 4th, before I had to be 45 or it was shaking.
What does this mean? I have no clue, the spring didn't fix it but it seems to have slightly changed it's behavior.

swapped the whole comp assembly out, thats how I got the extra spring, took it out of my old cover. Swapping just the comp assembly didn't do anything. The return to idle from revving really confuses me, why would the vibration pattern pick a different RPM.

I don't have your answer, just adding something while thinking out loud..
Vibrations can change RPM(frequency they vibrate at) whenever the weight or pressure exerted on the item causing it changes.. The best way to think of it is of a tuning fork. The thicker the fork gets, the more force it takes to make it vibrate.. So, with more pressure on your compensator, your taking the play away from the "ramps", It cant just "slap" back and forth.. Next time you have it off, I'd see how much play you have on the shaft, then put a dial indicator on it... Take the plugs out, put it in 5th and turn the tire.. See how much that shaft "wiggles"... To me, this is just more reason to believe its in the crank..
