Default cam gear

Ok I pulled the stock can from my 94 softail cause it broke a lip on the roller bearing which broke a tooth on the pinion ,my parts book has different pt numbers for color of dot , well there no color dot , so I counted the teeth on it & counted teeth on the new EV 27 same count gears are the same size on both cams any ideas on what pinion gear I need to order ?

Usually they are code red as stock but you really need to use the gauge wires and measure the gear to be sure.

Do you have a colored dot on the new cam? If so, order the pinion that corresponds to that color.

There are special sized wires that sit between the teeth and you measure the diameter that way...this link to EV27 install instructions will tell all on page 4
