I know you're right it's just the absolute last thing that I want it to be. I don't think it's the timing either. I'm just surprised by all that I've found wrong. Something messed up every step of the way

Don't worry... we're in the same boat. My crank seal went out. I lost a lot of primary fluid over the weekend, and I popped the dipstick and found an ATF/oil mixture overflowing out of my oil tank. Didn't know they could leak in the opposite direction... By far the most frustrating motorcycle I've ever owned but I'm sticking with it.
Funny isn't it. I want to hate it but I like it more than any other bike I've ever owned.
Same here. After riding/owning a Harley, and an evo at that, I could never own another motorcycle in that style unless it's a harley. I'm just waiting on the day to where 100 miles ridden isn't another hour of work. I guess it's part of owning an old motorcycle. Just the other day I lost my rear brake, and it turned out that the exhaust mounting bracket rubbed a hole into the cap on my rear master cylinder. It's always something.
I after comparing friends bikes to mine I test rode 2 bikes. Looking to sell mine or trade it in. 1 a 99 RG and the other a 02 ultra. Just could not bring myself to trade this one off, went back home after each ride and went back at it.
