Default Carb or FI

Hi all,
I am looking at a 1996 Road King as a companion for my 2002 Sportster.
There are actually 2 for sale. Both 1996, one has a carb, other one is FI.
The carbed one has been in storage for the last 4 years till this spring but has been ridden since. It has 29,000 miles on it.
The FI has 26,000 miles.
I personally lean towards the carbed one but would like your advice before making a decision.
And sorry if this is discussed before.

'96 used the MM FI system. As long as you don't modify the bike it should give you good service, but you will need to learn to deal with it's special needs. Many of us have converted our MM FI to a carb. If that's what you buy, there is a wealth of know-how here to help. Good luck. Just buy the one that tickles your fancy.

My thoughts are either one can have it's Pros and Cons. If the FI bike suited me better I'd try to buy it at a price good enough to convert to carb if needed. JMO WP

Carburetor. No question. Simple, easy to tune, easier to 'upgrade' the engine (which you'll both want and need to do).

Carb. Or discount the MM EFI significantly enough to pay for a carb conversion. Say, a thousand bucks for parts and PITA factor.
