My CV seems to go through float needles every couple of years. Makes ya wonder if all this ethanol being added is causing them to deteriorate faster.

Another thing to check is the little wire "bail(?)" that hooks the float to the float needle. I've seen cases where these little wire doohickeys can get tangled on the float tang, keeping the needle from closing. It can be intermittent, and will drive you crazy trying to find it.

This is what I'm wondering about. I watched a video about float setting, and, when the guy reinstalled the needle, he went back and made sure tie wire dohickey was centered where it should be..

I don't remember doing that......

Hey now, believe it or not, I put the old needle back in. The new one didn't seem to seat correctly......

She ran great. I did have to tweak the float slightly, and I do believe my petcock is malfunctioning.

Time for a PINGEL!

I have about a half dozen tales about floats and all to long for me to type.
I use to count myself as pretty good at setting the float level. That was until this carb LOL.
What do ya think is going on with petcock?

Fuel continues to flow, even when the bike isn't running.

Can't remember the year models but know of 2 being replaced for letting fuel into the vacuum line and making the bike run bad.

Took mine off not long after getting the bike
