Went to New Orleans over the weekend to see Phantom of the Opera, so not much happened on the bike. I got a bit of time last night to mess with her. First, I made me a tool to put in the new seal. I used two 2" couplers and a short piece of 2" PVC. I worked and I have a couple ideas to improve it should it be needed again.

Here, you can see the difference in the sprocket spacers. The one on the left is for my softail and a normal charging system. The one on the right is for the high output system that was on the motor I bought. I greatly appreciate y'all pointing out I needed to change the spacer in my other thread. I would have not caught that.

Here you can see the new seal installed. I am running an enclosed belt drive on this bike, so I guess it will be very apparent if this sucker leaks. Hahaha

I bought a Compu Fire system to replace the high output one. When I removed the rotor from the old system, one of the magnets was broken, so good thing I changed the system out. Here you can see the new rotor installed over the new stator.

I went ahead and installed the manifold and carb. I did straighten it out after I took this picture. The factory parts manual shows the manifold bolts to be socket head. Next time I pull the manifold off, they will be replaced with hex head. I had to cut one of my tools down to be able to fit it in there to tighten them.

Tailbreaker graciously sent me a complete air cleaner setup he removed from his bike. It turned out to be a Screaming Eagle kit, so I got a stage one upgrade on accident. Hahaha. I went ahead and mounted it loosely to see how it looked. I love the air cleaner. It looks so cool and will match the metal flake going in the paint. One question, there is a cutout in the air cleaner on the rim. Which direction does that point?

That is where it stands right now. My next goal is to mount the enclosed belt drive, starter, and outer primary cover. Hope to get to that Thursday night.

Cut out is goes straight up to the sky. Consider 12 point head intake manifold bolts. 5/16-18x3/4". Just pay attention to the size of the flange if you go hunting at the hardware store. Only so much room for the flange. Bike is coming along nicely!

You caught a good one on the magnets.. Eventually it would've led to under charging.. In all honesty that's a tough one to diagnose.. Anyways it's looking real good.. Can't wait to see the paint with metal...

That cut out on the air filter cover is so the gas tank doesnt hit the filter cover. Some bikes had bigger gas tanks and when the motor starts to rock the cover could smack the bottom of the gas tank.

Ahh, makes sense. I am going to get the clean and recharge kit for the K&N filter today and take care of that.

I hear you. But I am working two jobs right now to recover from my divorce so my free time is limited. I am planning on working on it tomorrow evening since I am not working tomorrow night.
