Oh, my girlfriend already knows I can be childish, and she's OK with it.

It came right down to the wire, but I am finished for the season. Fedex dropped the ball delivering tires to the shop, so I only had today to finish everything before I fly back to CT tomorrow.

My goal was to get everything done that was necessary to take the bike off the jack. It took a few hours, but both wheels are on, the belt is adjusted, and here it sits:

I'm definitely a happy camper! The bars and pegs fit me well, I can't wait to ride it.

Now I just have to put everything away and cover both bikes for the summer. I'll continue this thread when I return in November.

Looks great. What a shame to have to cover it up and leave it sitting for half a year. I could come take it for a ride if you like.

Kudos for giving that ol springer a second life.
It sounds like you did it right.
I'd be going nuts not being able to ride it this summer.

Thanks guys, you might have to team up to ride - two push and one makes vroom vroom noises! I'm happy I was able to sit on it and pretend for a few minutes.

I've got bikes to ride in CT, so I can wait until next year to ride the springer.

That's my plan. I just have to fix this again:

This is the second time in a few months that this started leaking. I replaced the seals with black rubber, added another washer to the spring. Now what?
