but the 37's I have installed were all quiet, woods cams, now that's a whole new can of worms.
Your right about the Woods cams, ran them in my 03 and now in my 07, they are noisy due to the quick ramps, but they are great cams.

I run the woods cams in my own bike also, I kinda like the sound of the valvetrain, reminds me of of some of my old smallblock chevy solid roller lifter days, Won't put them in my buddies bikes though, don't want them to have more power than me.

thanks for all the imput. Got up this morning and started at step one on the push rods. Figured out that I was not at tdc on compression strokefor the front cyclinder prior to adjustment. Problem solved, ticking gone, runs great andsounds great. Actually I'm kind of impressed with the sound of the engine now. It is actuallyquieter then prior to cam change. Gears are quiet also. Kind of makes me wonder if something is wrong after reading other postings about noise after the same install. Andrews 26g. Thanks again.

I put in 26G's 2 years ago. They are quiet when the bike is cold. When it gets hot, it sounds like a diesel. I consulted with the "experts". They told me to swap lifters, adjust the pushrods this way and that way, and add one of the famous Baisley springs. I did it all. Nothing helped. At first, the noise drove me nuts. Now I am used to it. BTW, I have talked to several other using 26 cams that have had the same results.

Hey Doc, this is kinda off topic for this thread, but, what carburetor mods (stock cv) would you suggest on an '06 RK, 95", 9.5:1 flat tops, 26g cams, stock heads and good flowing muffers?

Thanks
K.

There are two things I would do but I will give you three good options:
# 1) Send your existing 40mm carb to Bobby Woods for him to perform his magic on it.....he will open it up to a 42mm. This will cost you #650.00

# 2) Buy a S/E 44mmC/V carb and agiin send it to Bobby Wood to revamp it....it will come back to you with 6 more ponies attached. This will cost you $299.00 foir the carb and $500.00 for Bobby.......biggest hp gain with this selection

# 3) Install a 45 mm Mikuni. Mikuni is a great carb, a little more work to adjust correctly to optimize the performance but a good carb never the less. I believe the price for every thing is around $600.00.....I don't know if this encludes the air filter or jet kit.
