I have a 2001 Fatboy, carbureted and I just picked up a used set of Screamin Eagle II pipes. Looking thru the slip on I can see all the way thru it so the baffles are near nonexistent.
It sounds badass but no one will ride on my right or behind me and I am constantly setting off car alarms...I need to quiet it down.
I called Big City Thunder but their products are designed to make it louder. I need some suggestions for baffles that will give a good low tone but be quieter, hopefully a bit louder than stock
It's possible the baffles were removed. Some of the SE pipes Thad a perforated tube wrapped in fiber glass wrap. The fiberglass absorbed the sound. If you can see a perforated tube the packing is probably shot and needs replacing. If you don't see anything except the outer muffler body then it's all missing.
If that's the case check with Fulsac they may have replacement tubes.
I called them yesterday, explained my situation and they said they had nothing
I am amazed you were able to get anyone from Big City Thunder on the phone. I've been trying for three days to get a response to my question about ordering a set of their monster thunder baffles (left VM, email, message through their website, Facebook message, etc.). No response at all.
