Your assuming that everything is already perfectly matched.Exhaust flows the same as the intake with the same Delta Pressure, Both items intake and exhaust flows at or above the current maximum flow of the engine/pump.
In that case, you would be correct. However in real life, it's nowhere near that simple and surely not the case on a V Twin in standard production.
I do agree if doing pipes, do the Air Filter kit as well then have it tuned for the new setup.
