Default Engine Ranges

A lot of people have been talking about low-range, mid-range and high range for an engine. I am looking at getting a gear cam kit and they are asking me what range I want improvement in.
Can some clear up and clarify what the ranges are.
Low range- 0 - 30 MPH ?? and so on.

Thanks Doc. Do you have any recommendations for good Mid Range CAMS?

For mid range we like the new RR525 gear drive cam. It is designed to be a torque cam (bump up from a 37) for little or no head work.

Thanks, I was thinking Andrews 37. Is this a good choice?

I haven't tried Randys .525 cam myself but he is a smart man so there is one choice. I lean to the 26---37---tw6. The tw6 and 37 need a bumb up in the compression and a small bit of head work will really let the cam come unleashed

Thanks, Do all new cams need head work? I was hoping just to get a CAM kit, no head work.

I'd go with the Andrews 26 cam then.....80/90 is very consistent with a 95 'or 96' motor
