Don't know where you guys are getting Shell 98? Around here 93 is the highest octane from Shell, 94 from Sunoco. I have encountered bad gas a couple of times over the years, and instead of trying to run it out, I drained it.

I buy my gas at what ever joint is handy when I need it and usually get it at the no name places. I've never had any trouble out of any of it. I don't believe it when I hear people make claims that I only run Brand X gas because I get better performance or better mileage. Sure, you can get a little water every now and then or even get some out of a rusty tank that will give you some problems, but those incidents have nothing to do with the name on the pump.
