Need help
-Back story-
So I'm brand new to this forum and would like to introduce myself. I'm actually posting for my father who lacks the the technical savy to deal with forums. I'm 18 and work on import cars and am pretty serious about it, I'm not silly with underglow and obnoxious exhaust but rather i modify quite tastefully.I'm a member of 300zxclub.com and own a 1995 300zx non-turbo 5spd. If anyone has a question about an import related issue give me a shout and I'll atleast point you in the right direction.
-The Problem-
My dad's carburetor is leaking fuel through the filter. Thats an obscene amount of gas to be an accident or not serious. It doesn't seem to be running that well either. I took a look at it with what little knowledge I have on carbs and cleaned out what I thought to be exhaust gas recirculation piping. I also cleaned up the Plug wire connectors. Seems to be running alot better and it hasnt been leaking as of 1 hour ago. Are there any other things I should look into for preventative maintenance. Also I would like to know what carburetor is on his bike, its a stock 1997 Heritage Soft tail.Does anyone have a recommendation for a good carb rebuild kit and a site that shows it being done. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
