Default Choke Problem

I seem to be having a problem with the choke on my 05 1200C. Lately it's been really hard to pull out (got the WD40 to it and it's not helping) and after the bike's warmed up the choke doesn't want to go in. It seems like there's some air pressure keeping it from going in. I can push it in but it'll come back out like the air is pushing it back out. If I toy with it for a little while I can get the choke all the way in and it'll run normally. Oh, and when I push it in and it doesn't plan on staying, it still idles high. Any ideas before I send it to the dealer?

Rick - There is a tensioner on the shaft of the choke ****. It is normally a black plastic sleeve looking deal that threads over the choke housing. Try turning it one way or the other and see if that helps. Since it is a mechanical enricher, there's something mechicanal holding it.

Yes.
A be careful how much you tighten that part. It's just plastic, and will snap if you over do it.

Rick, start by turning it counterclockwise. That should loosen the tension. If that doesn't do the trick, then you've reached my level of ignorance.

I don't know anything about this tensioner thing but if that doesn't work, check to see if the choke cable is binding somewhere.

If **** tension doesnt help, then I would recommend checking the choke plunger in the carb, and make sure the spring isnt binded. With the choke **** pushed in, you should have slack in the choke cable.
