So MegaHDman, which 98" kit do you fee is the best unit. Also I'm having Andrews 37s with geardrives installed. Not sure what to do with the heads, but, it will have to be modestly priced whatever I do. Your imput would be appreciated. Will I run into any problems tuning the older M&M EFI. Should I use a PC IIIusb or a SERT.
Personally, I feel the best off the shelf kit is the Axtell 97" kit since they come torque plate honed. The Millenium cylinders I recieved were torque plate honed, but only from special request. Best place to get the Axtell kit is through NRHS. They come with far superior pistons than what you would get if you ordered through Axtell directly. Axtell sells their kits direct with JE or Wiseco pistons I believe, and I dont like em for a number of reasons. But the NRHS Axtell kit is first class with top notch parts. http://www.nrhsperformance.com/ekittc.shtml
To be honest though, which ever kit you choose both are vastly superior to the 95" options available. Like I said, I have a set of both. The Millenium showed to have tolerances like the Axtell cylinders after all 3 tests I performed. I just havent put any miles on them yet, but I have no worries at all, the quality is evident.

The MM EFI TB can be a choking point. If your asking about to do with the throttlebody you can bore it a few mm.
As for the heads? Who is working on them? I wouldnt want a typical wrench messing with the heads unless he has proven merits in headporting. There are lots of great head porters you can send your heads to that will do basic work that doesnt cost an arm and a leg, depedns on your budget.
What I meant about the EFI is can it be tuned to the 98" kit, but, thanks for the advise on boring. As far as the heads are concerned, I'm in Canada, EH!
Maybe I should send them to someone you could suggest over the border, if thats practical. Also Donny Petersen's shop in Toronto might be the place for me to go.
Ah Donny Peterson, the magazine journal man. He is OK, dont know or think he does any headwork. Probably sends his stuff out. If shipping isnt too prohibitive I would send your headwork out to a known shop in the states, not too many places in Canuckville I consider top notch. But I honestly dont know what you budget'd for heads. 37g cams are mild and generally you only need to get a good valve job on a SERDI and some exhaust port work. Though if this work is for the beast you got pictured I would consider Woods TW-5g or S&S 570g cams if you havent picked the cams up yet, you will get just as much bottom end grunt and more through the midrange than the 37g. 37g is a good grind and popular though unspectacular.
Ok, I'll bite, whats a SERDI?
Are those two cams bolt ins as well?
What should I budget for head work? I'm not going to want the fastest bike on the road, obviously. I'm looking for the best bang for the buck on a mild reasonably priced build. Thanks again for your thoughts.
