Dumb question about pipes
I just bought my first Harley, a 2000 superglide. It has to me what look to be aftermarket slip on pipes, but I am not sure. Can anyone tell me what pipes these are, and if they are any good? I mean they sound good to me, but I was more concerned about performance. I bought this bike used and like it a lot, but I am looking to do some upgrades.

I think they're Vance & Hines drag pipes that have full coverage heat shields. Is there a V&H emblem close to the tip? Drag pipes perform best in the higher RPM range and are kind of doggy for low end and mid range. IMO, a poor performance choice for a street bike, not to mention obnoxiously loud. Baffles/obstructions in the flow can be added to help them perform better....but I'll let a more knowledgable hand say more. When you shine a flaslight up in there do you see baffles?
