Default Start up engine idle - what is it

Just recently had my bike dyno'd now when I crank it up it starts and idles at 2K foe a few seconds everytime, fuel dump. Should't it still crank cold about 1k to 1300 rpms? What do ya'll get at cold idle startup?

My 08 Fatboy, that I did some work on just lately, did the exact same. I am still tuning on it with SERT but one thing to slow the startup idle down was lower the "cranking fuel" some. Cranking fuel, I think, dumps too much in maybe and the engine has to burn it off at the very first. Then it catches up to control idle at setpoint. Setpoint can be anything but I set mine at 1075 RPM.

The question at hand now is how impenitent was the tuner? If he added too much VE to the 3%~5% throttle position between 500 rpm to2000rpm it would race like this. Since you don't have aIAC motor any more I have to agree with Old Gunny and say it is a fuel problem.....if the tuner was goodhe wouldn't be adding a bunch to cranking fuel or too much to warm upenrichment table. It also could be a faulting reading from theMAP sensor. My first guess would be To much fuel in the 3%~5% Throttle Position inthe VE tables.

Once I get use to spending more time with a computer to tune an engine I'll do OK I think. Use to fiddle with weights and springs and jets, now..... keyboards.Purpose and outcomeis still the same.Gotta just,Go with it.

08 UC's don't have IAC anymore??
Reason I asked is that is what I lowered a lot to get the startup idle down to reasonable. Read the SERT manual again.
