do torque cones work?
They will give you a little bottom end back but NOTHING like a good pipe will produce. However the restriction in the exhaust flow from the Torque Cones will rob you tremendously on top end....when you see the results on a dyno, you will agree they belong in the garbage.
What about those baffles from Big City Thunder, I think they call them Thunder Monster Baffles.
They have the lolli-washer in the middle.

I have heard they work really good. They would have to be better than no baffle at all.

Yes those have been proven to work much better mainly because the restriction isn't at the exhaust valve it self, but however with any baffle the likes of these will effect top end power.....you can not beat the consistent power of a good flowing exhaust system that has been proven over the years like ProPipe HS Series, SupperTrapp Mega, first generation S/E II slip-ons, WhiteBrothers E Pipe, Cycle Shack M Pipes, etc. 2', 2.25', 2.5', straight pipes just don't perform well all through the rpm range on a small inch harley with any cam overlap involved, they just don't flow the gasses fast enough to expell them out of the way for the next blowdown cycle and there is a huge saddle or dip at 2000~3500 rpm and that's where you ride all day.
thanks shagnasty,I'll let you know if i'm interested in experimenting.I'm gonna put on a set of LA choppers 187 exhaust and go from there.I'm sure i'll lose some low end but need to see for myself how much. Not gonna cost me anything got the pipes with the bike.Just looking at how short they are i think the bikes gonna run crappy down low.
