I have 250 miles break in miles on her. I have been breaking it in as Inormally ride never getting on the motor shifting below 3000rpms. Will I be fine to run it up over 3000 rpms a few times the anticipation is killing me.
Thanks Baggerdsm. The tune the tech put in is a break in map he mapped himself and hasrun it on his othercustomes bikes it runs awesome. Its better than the dyno mapthat was done on my 96. I wastotally taken by the tuner and dealer that did my dyno on my 96 (live and learn). Thats ok I found someone that knows how to tune SERT and I will be very happy to have him Dyno after break-in.
Rings will be seated by the time you got 25 miles in and if ridden correctly way before that. Ride it like you normally would and you wont hurt a thing.
I agree Dalton, with todays materials there is no need to baby a break in....get-r-done. I seat the rings in 25 miles or so and then it's a 30 mile ride to the dyno where a full tune goes in the bike and... WALA...it's ready for the customer.
I appreciate the feedback. I have been riding normal and the build has taken the way I expected. Will dyno next week. I just can't believe the way the bike just runs with the download the tuner put in way better than my dyno on the 96. It goes to show you a good tuner is the key. Will post numbers once I get them for observations. I am not expecting earth shattering results as it was just a mild build. The extra power I am getting on such a light bike without any numbers yet, I am satisfied with money spent.
