Unless I hold down one of \\;the releases, the starter will kick back. Do I need to replace? Have tried cleaning, \\;still have to hold down. Hurts when it's hot.
Ignition advance @ 750 ~ 1k RPM (low MAP value) \\;can certainly influence and contribute to this too. 10~12 degrees "during" startup makes it much easier to start w/less likelihood of kick-back.
\\;you shouldn't have to hold down the compression release to make it operate. maybe compression release is not working. use 13mm deep well scoket to remove. if it doesn't "click down" replace it go to a chainsaw shop that sells HUSQVARNA chainsaws buy a compression release from them should be about 1/2 cost.if they ask for model # tell them 372.
Phil, I did set the timing in the 750-1000rpm cells to 10°.
Battery was new late last season, checks out OK. Have heavy duty cables....clean &\\; tight.
Tune is pretty good, runs strong, no decel popping or low speed surging \\;etc. Do get some piston(forged) rattle until it gets to operating temps. Maybe that's why it's hard to start. Have not done a leakdown test.
