I've got V&H BigShots Staggered, and a "Hypercharger". I don't have anything else, just got that popping when I decelerate.
I bumped my slow jet up to a #50 and my main jet up to a #195. I've also got 2 washers under my needle. I tried different settings on my idle mixture.....doesn't seem to make much difference. Plugs look better, just thinking I might still be a little on the lean side. Thought I'd try a #52 and see if that helped. The jets aren't much, I figured if I was gonna get a #52, I might as well get a 54.
Is the popping out of the carb or exhaust? If it is the exhaust and not the carb, I don't think you are running lean. You may want to check for a leak in your exhaust pipe. Running over a 48 is to much in my opinion.
I think some popping is probably normal. The muffled kinda pop. It shouldn't sound like you are at a gun fight. Check for leaks at the manifold and the exhaust clamps. Vibrations could cause the clamps to loosen and Harleys vibrate- who knew? I run a 48 pilot jet with the screw at about 2 turns. Seems to run fine. My sig lists mods on my RK.[&:]
