Maybe I should ask this over here. I have a set of Pythons on my 88 incher (06 Superglide). The Pythons are just V&H big shots but with non removable baffles. That and I hear that the Pythons have a crossover and the V&H do not. Anyways I was just wondering if the Thunderheaders would make that much of a differance over what I have. I have the oppertunity to pick a set up and I see alot of folks running them.
You will get a good bit of torque in the 2200 to 3000 rpm range. i swithed from the SE slip ons to the TH on my bike when it was an 88, l loved the way it ran with it.
After a HQ 95 in. kit it ran even better!!! then I went to a Rinehart 2-1 (big dissapoint ment) and then I went a D&D fat cat, a vast improvent but not quite the punch of the ThunderHeader.
I ran pythons on evo they ran great ,but its liter and differant than touring bike. The two into one is better for low end power which a lot of guys fell is needed especaily on touring bikes.I like the sound and power combonation of thunder headers. On sporter bikes like dynas and softails I do like the look of staggered duals and dont fell your giving up a lot in power especaily if you ride hard most of the time. Now if your riding two up and behaving(riding like little old lady) which I thank all should when riding another, then Id go with the thunder header.
Hey If your getting them at good price buy them and run them you can always switch back and resale them or hell just change from time to time its easy swap hour or hour and 1/2.
the t-header is one of the best 2 into 1 pipes out there.
from stock to 107ci it will perform better then any 2into 2 . it seems to run best in 95 , 103 and 107 in builds.
it is a bit loud ....
I just today put on Thunderheaders & Big Sucker Stage 1 with a powercommander V , what was stock 2009 FLHX , (California) I lost in the low end , at 3000rpms stock was around 60hp , now it's at about 42hp at 3000rpm , it did add 8 hp over all , but not till you get to about 4000rpms hits 70hp , it was about 50 degrees today so don't know how much that affects dyno , but not to happy with the result
Buy the Thunderheader (singular. Sorry it just drives me crazy when people say ThunderheaderS or FatCatS when there is only ONE pipe...LOL), you won't regret it. Good sounding and good performance....

Bassani. Quality is much better than the TH, your chrome wont flake your brackets wont break, its much better looking than the ugly duckling TH, sounds better IMO and performance is top notch.
Just realized that I created a bit of a poem there. LOL, it should be sung to anyone thinking of a TH. hahaha

So, the video in your sig line where the guy says FatCats seventeen times is a joke?
I have had (3) 2-1 thunderheader pipes on 3 differant bikes.I have never had a problem with the pipe as far as chrome peeling or flaking,no problems with any brackets breaking or any problems at all.Great sounding pipe with performance!!!
I did try a 2-1 fatcat pipe with the standard baffle, never again. The pipe sounded like
s--t!! I"ll stick to the t-header.My .02 cents.
