Probably will switch out to a gear drive primary. If this is done, would 3.37 still be the optimal choice? Where would that put 6th gear on the hwy?

Huh? Gear drive primary? Switching to "gear drive" on a twin cam means changing out your cams in your cam chest to a gear driven setup. You cams are currently run by a chain and tensioners. Going to a gear driven cam gets rid of the chain and tensioners which is a potential weakpoint in the engine.

Your PRIMARY is a wet bath chain driven unit. Going to 3.37 means you need to change out the clutch basket and compensator sprocket(while using the original chain) to a different tooth arrangement. Cost is about $250 in parts. With a 3.37 6th gear will put you in the low 2's assuming an average speed of around 65-70mph.

Trust me on this, the Woods TW 5G with the SE 6 speed and 3.37 primary is a VERY POPULAR setup, and everyone I know of who runs this setup is more than happy. Your ride will be a night and day difference from what your current setup is now. It will be like your on a completely new bike with alot more power under foot.

Gotcha. It's getting clearer. Thanks.
