Boring out cylinders
Hello everyone. Got a question about boring out cylinders. I have a good friend who gave me his brand new take off cylinders (about 15 miles or less) that I was going to send out to get bored. I have heard that one of the reasons to send out your own cylinders is better because they are "seasoned" to your motor. This being said, should I use my cylinders or his? Thanks, Calvin.

His will be fine. Some of the machine shop just wanted to see some heat cycles put through them so they "broke in". You will be fine as long as you have a good machine shop that specializes in HD bore them.
