hey guys,
New to the forums here and had a few questions about problem Ive been having lately.
I have a 95 superglide. Every time I start the bike for the first 20-30 minutes it lurches, backfires, and makes a strange snapping sound from my air cleaner. After it runs for awhile and warms up it goes away for the most part but may do it a bit if i stop for a few minutes.
All this happens when im giving it gas. The plugs seem quite good. I have been letting the bike warm up for awhile as well.
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanx alot
joey
A good cleaning or maybe a rebuild. Possibly a torn carb diaphragm? I assume your air cleaner filter is in good shape? You might want to post on the Evo forum. There are some real good guys there that love to help solve Evo problems.
My evo takes a little while to warm up and run right. Once you crank it, let it run for a while to warm up before riding off.
If you just got the bike, it would be a good idea to go ahead and change the filter screen in the tank and clean the air cleaner. For that matter do a complete service on the bike including lubing all cables.
