Hi There I have a 2009 Dyna Super Glide & the second day I owned it with less than 200 km I checked the oil for the first time & there was no reading on the engine oil stick. I was not a happy camper & went & got some 20/50 oil & she drank 800 ml to get half way up the stick. Dealer said ride it & monitor, so 500 more km's later I was down about 1.5 lt. They took it apart did the seals & rings while they were there & said try that. Come see us at 2300 for her first check. Now I'm at about 1850 km & have added 810 ml.
I am wondering what should be done if she drinks another 500 ml or so by the 2300 mark.
Should they put a new motor in so I don't have to pull out all my hair when the fall weather sets in & I am forced to store it not knowing whats really going on?
I'm not a mechanic but I don't think a new motor should be using that much oil. During break-in a motor will use some oil, maybe up to a 1/2 qt. , that will be normal.
