Getting Started
I'm looking to eliminate the crossover pipe on my 06 Ultra. I was thinking Vance & Hines Dresser Duals Touring 16729 headers and keeping the stock mufflers as I like quiteness. I'm going to order the PC lll USB fuel control, as far as the air cleaner I'm not sure. I know there has been alot written about these things but I'm trying to get some fresh inputs where to buy, what I can expect or if I'm heading in the right direction.

I don't think you will be happy with the stock mufflers performance. If you want quiet power check out fullsac or s+s spo mufflers. As far as i know they are the lowest db with goof flow out there.

I just got the VH dresser duals and am running VH straight cut slip ons with bullet end caps. I'm getting the VH Fuelpak on Monday and have an Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner kit ready to install also. Ordered all from Dennis Kirk

Get rid of the stock mufflers or the other work you have done will just go to waste. More air coming in means more air needs to get out. The engine airflow must be balanced for it to run well. Don't forget to put it on a dyno to have it tuned. That's the only way to get everything set up correctly.
There are several slipons that perform better and aren't too loud. V&H makes some good ones, as does Rinehart.
