Default 07' FLH TP engine problem

My brother bought a 07' police like new from National Motorsports in NH with just 6,6xx miles. He went to Daytona with it and after just 400 miles the oil pump gear shattered on startup. This caused the end of the crank to get out so he needs a new crank. We already found a oil pump and cam plate but are looking for a used, like new crank. If anyone can help let me know. Also, any idea why this happened? I have a 08' RK and they tell me it is not too uncommon for the pump gear to break. If someone has a take out crank for a 96" twin cam motor please let me know.

I have read and heard that the 96" motor has crank issues.

Have it straightened and welded on the pin. Late model Harley s have weak cranks If you buy another crank it could happen again . These guys charge $450 http://www.revperf.com/
