I was actually walking through the dealer last week and a guy was asking that very same question. The service and parts guys both strongly urged him not to try that as it's one of the quickest ways to a gasket leak. Those bolts do a lot more sealing per bolt than say the cam cover or primary cover bolts. I'd have no problem replacing those one at a time, but I wouldn't jack with the head bolts unless I was prepared to loosen all 4 bolts and re-torque. But that's just me...

I wouldn't suggest replacing head bolts, primary, or cam cover bolts without replacing gaskets and following the full torque sequence. and don't forget the lock-tight.

man, is anyone else reading this thread wishing they were a banana?

No loctite on head bolts
You really should not disturb the head bolts unnecessarily.

You can do all kinds of things but---

The whole idea is to, when finished with whatever doing on whatever, to be able to crank up and go down the road with as much piece of mine as possible.

Unless you could care less about that. And dont care what happenes, where ever it happenes.

Enough varatibles in this world already without adding to the list of worries.

Do it right.
