Default upgrade exhaust

I just installed Vance & Hines longshots on my 05 softail . Whats the general opinion of longterm use of the factory exhaust system. With that much restriction on the engine it has to be very hard on the engine. With new exhaust a re-DYNO and filter upgrade my bike sounds and runs like a Harley should.

Not too many people leave the stok pipes on much lohger than the recommended break-in period - except geezers and their baggers. Fuel consumption is relative. If you open up the breathing path, them more fuel is required. If you like the feel of horse power, them more fuel is required. If you like to blast down the road, then more fuel is required.

It was upgraded by a Harley dealer.A word of advice make sure you have the sport tips installed before the Dyno job is done as the tips make a difference in the exhaust flow.
