I have a 2000 FLHRC 88 ci Roadking with 48,000mi. Recently I took her into the local Harley shop to get the SE cam tensioner upgrade. They stated that one of the cams was bad and suggested that they be changed to SE 211 cams. Since that time I have had a sucking type noise when I let off the throttle and coast. I took her back and they said that they did all that they can to fix it. It has Thunderheader true duels (previously SE 203 cams) and was running fine before the work. Does anyone have a clue to what is going on. I was told by a friend that it has too much cam.
Yep unless you dive into the top end too much cam. if youre just looking for alittle bump, go with adrews 21 or 26. maybe SE 204. 211 needs head work and at least more compression, really 95" with headwork 10.1 compression

SE211 is a great cam setup but....... too much for a stock 88. Sounds like they set you up to spend more money for the 95 BB kit. I have a stock 96 with the SE211 cams, runs great but I have some tuning issues. I/you need more compression, like others have and will continue to say. However, if you do stick with those cams and do the 95 upgrade, you will absolutely love the results.... Just my opinion.. I do have a question though.... How did it all of the sudden have a bad cam if it ran good before the work? Did you have any kind of running issues? I would difinitely question what they have said to you about a bad part. I have 10 Harley dealers within a 60 mile radius, hopefully you have at least half that for a choice for the next upgrade..
Sure, the guys that worked on your bike have no clue.
Anybody can install parts, but the ones that know what parts work, can tune and trouble shoot are your best bet.
I would have good indy shop have a look.

When I was having the cam tensioner upgarde they called me and said that one of the cams was bad (SE203).Ran great before my vist to our local shop. The shop manager was the one that recomended the 211's and said that they would work in my bike. I'm gathering all of this info so that I can show him if needed. I would love to go with the 95" but they would have to cut me a he-- of a deal now. thanks!!
