2 into 1 options?
IMHO, I'd stick with the Pro-Pipe. You could try the Thunderheader, but they aren't made as well as the V&H pipes. I use the Pro-Pipe on all my bikes and once the baffle is tuned on the dyno, it runs better than any other 2-1 I've tested.
What do you mean buy the Thunderheader's arent made as good? I have heard this several times and I guess I just don't see it?????
I have a 2-1 Thunderheader my Dad has The Slip-on Thunderheaders and our Chrome and welds look pretty darn good to me. Also I think the Thunderheader sounds a lot better then the V&H.
As for the sound.... who cares? I buy pipes (and build bikes) for safety first, performance second. Appearance and sound are the lower priorities. Just because a bike sounds good doesn't mean it runs good. I wouldn't care if my bike sounded like a BMW, as long as the performance was exceptional. Then again, I've been racing H-Ds for a long time, so I have different priorities than most newbie riders. There's a lot more to a Harley than it's sound. Besides, I don't ride to impress anyone. If they don't like the way my bike looks or sounds, I couldn't care less. I'll still outrun most stage 2 Twinkies with my 80 inch EVO, even the 2007 models.
Was over at QUAKER STEAK & LUBE, State colledge PA right near PENN STATE UNIVERSITY and every WED. night is biker night got to hear a ton of pipes and ask some questions I focused on the 2-1 pipes only as I was wandering around the fleet of bikes Most of them were way to loud, but a couple really sounded great I heard a couple fat cats and H&S pro pipes both sounded good but I liked the D&D FAT cats the best they have that deep rumble ! Just what my ears like at idel anyway , it got late so I didn't get to hear them rumble down colledge avenue
