I am looking at the 4" SE mufflers from the MOCO for my 2010 EG. The product description says that they move a larger volume of air. Here's my question: When mufflers move a higher volume of air, does this cause the engine to run cooler? That is my goal. I have eliminated the cat and simply want to evacuate the exhaust gas quicker--not interested in sound. I don't like the noise.

If you are not using a tuner to change your fuel mixture and are running a stock ECM calibration then the following will happen.
Replacing the mufflers with a less restrictive type may move more air but the ECM will re-adapt to the same stock lean mixture and your "heat" factor will be as same as it was before you changed the muff's Professor.
Grab a good tuner to reduce your A and B to increase C.
A = Motor heat
B = Exhaust pipe temp
C = Rider Comfort
Actually a friend of mine punched out the baffles in his stock sportster and he swears that the bike is cooler, kind of makes sense as the exhaust gases have a straight path to exit. Just a thought.
