oil pressure question
Seeing as how I have a softail, I don't have an oil pressure guage, but I do have a question. A while back, I replaced my oil relief spring with a baisley lmr2. I figured I'd clean the plunger while I had it apart, too. I left the cam plate on the bike which made the plunger a little difficult to get out. I tried cranking the bike over with the old spring and roll pin removed (nothing holding it in place), but there wasn't enough pressure to push the plunger out. Is that normal?? I know these bikes run low pressure at idle, but that seems way too low to me now that I think about it. I finally got the plunger out with a magnet. Hmmm.

Don't sweat it; just be careful replacing the pin. If you tweak the end of the spring, the assembly won't operate properly. Get an oil pressure guage; there are several that mount to the rocker box.
