OK, I've searched and read through the forum(s) to try and figure this out, but am now totally frustrated so I'd appreciate some help. Have a '92 Heritage with a stock 80" that I'm replacing heads, etc over the winter. A couple weeks ago it started blowing oil out the right side of the engine "somewhere". It seemed as though oil was blowing out the oil fill cap as well as possibly the breather. Checked more carefully as well as had a tech from a dealership look at it, and it seemed as though the rear rocker was leaking. Replaced the gaskets with all new gaskets. All seemed well after that.
Today the d&*m thing started doing it again. I'm at work and can't rip it apart until later this week. However, unless the rocker or head was warped, there's no way it should be the rocker. It's possible that prior to the leak starting, the bike was overfilled with oil a little. It's certainly not overfilled now. An oil change was done at the same time the rocker gaskets were changed.
Prior to a couple weeks ago the bike didn't leak a drop of oil (though it does leak a drop or two of primary oil).
A dealer tech mentioned that I could also change to the newer head vs crankcase breather design.
Anybody have any ideas? I'd sure appreciate some help! This is making me nuts.
