Default Mackey stuff

Anyone using Mackie heads or the 575 cam? Dyno results for your build?

Just noticed I misspelled Mackie in the title of the thread. My apologies.

Thumbs up Dave Mackie

Yeah I am using the DME 575L's in a 103 at 10.5 comp, not using Mackie heads but I would if I didn't already have some body else's. Took out SE 251's, I like the 575L's better. Dave has been at this stuff for a long time and he is a no BS guy, he has helped me a bunch and like I said I don't even have his head work.

I have a Mackie Megasphere 95" with his 590 cams and a 45 Mikuni. The pistons match the recontured heads to give a 20 degree squish angle. I don't much believe in dyno numbers, too many variables. It walks away from other 95 builds and my buds 107 " bike that dynoed at 115 h.p (I don't believe that number either). It also walked away from another bud's kid's 100+ h.p. Buell. What impressed me is it is really dependable, runs cooler than stock, and is really fun to ride. My next motor will definitely have Mackie coordinated parts too.

not many people are using DM cams around here,I am looking the TC-510L for my bike and i think i will get those over se 204.Dave says the 510 give great over all performance and 575 mid to high range rpm.
I was originally gonna get the 204 witch is a great cam,but i always want something little bigger than that and i come across the DM tc510 and ill give it a try.I am sure either of those two cams will perform great but just because none have the DM 510 ill get it.

Iam running mackie 510G cams IN A STOCK TC 88. 79 HP 88 TORQ. Not bad will be going to 95 or 98 with some head work to get comp. to 9.8. Then the cams will really start to work. Also talked to Dave alot and as said very helpfull.

The 575's hit earlier than the SE 251/259e. I would call them midrange. I live not too far from Dave's shop and he is really a good guy. Doesn't push his stuff at all. Helpful guy. I will use him any time I need his parts or machining and porting expertise.

My bike is stock and that 575 look like might be little to big, I think his 510 will work better for me.
