Flat head top end on a iron head sportster.
I need information about how to turn a early sportster into a flat head. Any opinions, links or other information would be appreciated.
Winter, friends, garages and beer brings out the hypothetical questions. Since a 3.8125 stroke is used by 45's, K models and Sportsters. Can a Harley K or 45 top end bolt on a ironhead XL engine?

The bottom end of a 'side valve' should be more 'amenable' to accepting the pushrods and overhead valvetrain assembly than vice versa ....
How early of a sportster bottom end ...? Hydraulic lifters ...?
Might make for an interesting project ... but, better start laying in some funds for the budget that would eat up with all the specially machined parts ....
