The power pak is a larger diameter. To use the stock football cover. you'll need a 1/4 to 3/8" spacer. I run mine open unless i"m riding where I could hit a lot of rain.
I've been thru a few different AC mods: installed the K&N RK-3909 first, then got the Doherty Power Pac w/Vents & used the stock football cover, then ran the Doherty open, nowI'm runningthe ultimate air kit IMO: Dohertybackplate w/their breather vents & a Zippers filter. 100% happy now & done messing w/my air kit forever.
BTW, I replaced the crappy plastic stock breathers in my '02 w/the Doherty Mystfrees as well. All the Doherty machining I've seen has been nothing short of superb.
I really donno how well they work HK. As you can see in my attachment I have my breathers vented to the ground & I haven't had any oil from the line...but I didn't before I added the vents either. They do LOOK awesome tho![8D]
I see you already ordered one.I'm with everyone else who has chimed in,the thing is a work of art.Excellent quality.I have the power vents,I think they complete the look of the unit.
Hey guys
I just purchased a Doherty powerpacc with power vents for
my 95" HQ build today. What type if any are the breather
nipples that come with the kit??
Cause I'm planning on putting the tubes attached to the
power vents and then to a mini filter or perhaps a catch
can. The reason I ask is cause on there web site I noticed
they sell a pack of 3 chrome breather nipples separately
andwhen I enlarge the pic of my kit on the site, I don't see
them.
Mine came w/nipples that had 1/4" NPT on one end to thread into the bottom of the Power Vent, & abarb on the other that fitthe 3/8" fuelhose I used for vent line. I have mine set up very similar to what you describe & the supplied nipples worked perfectly.
