Interesting gearbox/trans on that bike! Looks a bit BSA to me, but not sure.

Not much to be done to them,cases won't stand much.Neither will the tranny,the popular thing to do (like the pics) was swap in a brit tranny but that still did'nt do anything to top end,4 speeds just got there quicker.Eliminate weight is the best bet, also no fat tire's the thinner the better.Sporty frontends also helped,lighter and,also stopped better.KHK cam's helped a little and,if memory work's cam's up till mid 60's were a little better.Probably not what you'd like to hear,but just ride it like it is,they will take an incredible amount of abuse

Can the servicar axle be flipped over with short axle on left side? We are installing a shovel motor in place of sportster ironhead... can this work? Thank's Rusty
