I just put a fatcat on my RK and replaced the old gaskets with the new....I just pressed them in with my fingers...flat side in first.

Use a pik or something like that to be sure the port is clear.

If you are talking about the, D&D metalic layered gasket afair, mine went in but I had to use a little gasket sealer to hold it in till I got the exhaust lined up and on..

Interesting gasket. Almost industrial. Like a thin, or narrow, flexatalic type. Crushable but just a little.

New to me. Came with the D&D exhaust.

Yup to the pick to get the old gaskets out. I didn't get any gaskets with my Fat Cat. Just went to the local MoCo and got Screamin' Eagle gaskets. The slipped right in slicker than owl chit.

You should be able to see or feel the gaskets at the port.

Default D and D Gaskets

the gaskets were taped to the bottom of the box that the muffler was in. and the spacers and longer bolts. I had all ready bought new gaskets and mounted the exhaust using the old hardware. I was throwing the cardboard boxes into the trash when i discovered the plastic package taped to the box bottom. what a bad idea. i called them and told them what i thought about it too. the screaming eagle gaskets are about half as thick as the d and d . I wasnt comfortable with them so I pulled the pipe off yanked the screaming eagle gaskets out and installed the d and d . be patient and put them in evenly, and slow. if you have time to plan ahead put them in the freezer over night, and it will make them smaller and they will go right in. good luck.

2014 Update:
1 of 2 things why this thread hasn't had any action in a couple of yrs. Either nobody has had any problems since freezin their gaskets or they're hirin out the installation!

I boogered up the 2 gaskets DND sent me. I was sooo close to hearin the Bob Cat's sweet
sound. Now I have to admit defeat & call DND tomorrow & get 2 more comin. I to followed their web site instructions & bought not 2 SE gaskets but 4 just in case I ever have to do a pipe's R&R.

FYI I read you can also use a "50mm wheel bearing race" installation tool. You can't just buy the 1 size - you have to buy the whole kit w/ other sizes. I'm a tight wad so I'm gonna throw the dice & pay overnight ship (can't wait another wk) for a couple more gaskets & give the "Freezer" treatment a go. I'll also see if I can borrow a 50mm race bearing install tool for backup just in case.

It's amazing the info these forums contain & usin the "Search Tool"

I am checking this out as I am about to install my Fatcat this weekend. I saw mixed results on install with some having to keep rear heat shield off to have clearance to tighten to rear cylinder. Any updates on that? I have a 2006 Wide Glide. With stock pipes I had to move heat shields out of the way to tighten rear cylinder. Getting battery and battery box out of the way helps too.
