Are there any significant changes to the 2006 and later TC88 heads as compared to the 99-05 type.
I knoe the intake flange gaskets are different but what changes did Harley make?
Which may be the better head?
Thx all

The 06-up casting has a raised intake floor, and the exhaust ports are opened to help up the hp, and dump heat, vs the earlier head that the Moco used to specifically hold heat in, with it constricted exhaust port, in an attempt to sqeeeeeeeak past EPA emission requirements.
Once the 6-speed came, the testing being done in high gear as always, and with less engine rpms, bingo, all was well, so they cut the exhaust loose via larger port.

This is why I truly enjoy this forum..lots of good knowledge out there and truly appreciated.
Basically I had a big bore 95 upgrade on my 2003 Road King with 25K miles....I had some criticism about doing only the heads and not the cams but I chose bore only.
A little while back I aquired a 'take off' set of 2006 heads which I chose to install since my top end was apart...The heads fit fine with only the correct intake flange gskt requirement.
Bike runs great thus far but still in break-in period before any tuning or dyno.
I have only a free breathing air filter and true Rinehart duals.
The work was all done by a reputable shop.
Seems that the 2006 heads will be fine based on the responses and opinions.
Any other recommendations from this point forward?
Again,many thanks!

What Andrews 26 part numbers am I looking for?
What else to go along with the cams?
Thx
If you go with 26's, look into decking the heads also. If funds allow, consider SE hydraulic tensioner upgrade. Although with 25k miles on an 03, the roi may not be worth it imo.
