Default Spark plug chaser

My sportster has "developed" some minor crossed threading damage. I need to locate an appropriate thread chaser to correct the damage so I can get my spark plug in. I went on down to my local Napa but the guy there said my thread was too fine for their tools... I must admit I'm having a hard time locating a tool online as well. Does anyone have any advice on where to find a chaser? I believe it is 12mm x1.25.

I can find plenty of taps, but I believe (with minor damage) the chaser is the way to go. I promise not to break the bike again. Please help!

Thanks,
Brent

This is a tap though and not a chaser. I've read that taps are for more serious repairs and that a chaser is the better way to go for minor damage to the threads. Taps are for more along the lines of rethreading. If all else fails I'll try the tap. Thanks for the link.

No difference in taping and chasing. You are cleaning the threads up that were made by a tap. You can call it what you want.

Just make sure you got it going straight.

Good point on the grease. Also when you put your new plugs in use a little Anti seize on the threads. Works wonders over the long haul of keeping your threads in good shape.
